Kurt Hegle
Kurt Hegle received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a combination Jazz Studies & Computer Science minor from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1994.  Prior to college, Hegle was a member of Minnesota Music Educators Association's 1988 All-State Band on euphonium. Currently the Bowling Center Manager at Incline Station in Duluth, Minnesota, special emphasis is placed on coaching U.S.B.C. Youth Bowling, coaching Special Olympics Bowling, operating the proshop, and lane maintanence tech.  Hegle received the Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Clinician from Special Olympics of Minnesota for 2006. During his years at U.M.D., Hegle performed with Steve Turre, Randy Brecker, Ernie Krivda, and several other top name artists as a member of Wind Ensemble, Jazz Combo I, and Jazz Ensemble I and traveled to Kansas City, Detroit, etc. for basketball and hockey finals as a member of the fabled U.M.D. Pep Band.  After college, he was a member of the small jazz group D.C. Jazz and continues to play tenor trombone in the North Shore Big Band.  Also on the resume are the Hungry Five Music Society, Dr. Hitt's Big Band, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, and pit orchestras for several dance/theatre/etc. dates.    Hegle has been a proud member and the bass trombonist of the Big Time Jazz Orchestra since 1993.
