Bradley Bombardier received his Bachelor of Music in bassoon and saxophone performance from UWS in 1982 and his Master of Music as a woodwind specialist from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in 1984. He has been second bassoonist of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra since 1979, and is also principal bassoonist of the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra. He is currently on the faculty of UMD where he teaches saxophone, and woodwind techniques. As a composer, Mr. Bombardier has had works commissioned and performed by many symphonies, bands, and chamber ensembles, including a commission for the Duluth Superior Symphony for November 2009. His works have been published by Moon of Hope Publishing, and MMB, Inc. He was awarded the prestigious Bush Artist Fellowship in 1987, and is a recipient of grants from the American Composers Forum and the Wisconsin State Arts Board. To date, Brad has had over 400 performances of his compositions and arrangements by a variety of ensembles, including the Indiana Brass Quintet, the Novosibirsk (Siberia) String Quartet, the Highland String Quartet, the DSSO, the LSCO, Strikepoint Handbell Ensemble, and the Big Time Jazz Orchestra.
