| Rich Mowers was awarded his Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from UWS in 1990 where he had been heavily involved in the jazz program under the direction of Dr. David Hagedorn. He is currently teaching instrumental music in the Esko schools. Rich is a freelance musician with a variety of groups and has performed with the Twin Ports Wind Ensemble, the Ray Ahlgren Trio, Dr. Soul and the Blueshounds, the Hungry Five Society Band, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, the Steve Vecchi Band, Wayne Newton, the Guy Lombardo Orchestra, and has accompanied Johnny Mathis in concert. Rich was chosen as the “Distinguished Young Band Director of the Year” for 1999 by the state chapter of the American School Band Directors' Association. |
